[ta'baː 'aɪləndz], Gardner Islands ['gɑːdnə-], von Melanesiern bewohnte Inselgruppe des Bismarckarchipels, Papua-Neuguinea, vor New Ireland, etwa 230 km2, bestehend aus Tabar Island, Tatau Island, Simberi Island und Mapua Island; in den Küstenebenen Anbau von Bataten und Jamswurzel, Kopragewinnung; Gold- und Silbererzvorkommen.
